Winter Activities

With our mild winter weather, the West Shore is a fabulous place to visit during the winter months. You can do just about everything you can in the summer if you dress for it. Play a round of golf, take a walk through one of our many parks, go fishing for Steelhead, trout and salmon, ride the trails on horseback or mountain bike. The choices are endless!

Natural wonder
Truly one of the most magnificent salmon runs in North America, the Goldstream Park Salmon Run is a perfect day trip opportunity to witness a unique version of nature's love story - the instinctive cycle of birth, death and renewal of species - is illustrated in spectacular fashion on the gravel reaches at your feet. Of the five kinds of North American Pacific salmon it is the Chum salmon that is most abundant in this river, though you may also see some Coho and Chinook salmon, as well as the Steelhead and the Cutthroat trout. Don't miss one of the largest concentrations of Bald Eagles anywhere in Canada feasting on the spawned-out salmon carcasses from December to February.
